Triage support email and draft replies for human review
n8n · Customer service · checked 2026-11-02
An n8n Community write-up shares a five-node support inbox workflow built for cold-start ticket piles. A Gmail trigger watches for new mail; an AI step classifies each message (billing, technical, general, complaint, or spam), rates urgency, writes a one-line summary, and drafts a three-to-five-sentence reply. Results land in a sheet for reporting and in Slack so a person still reviews and sends. The author kept sending human-in-the-loop on purpose, arguing a good draft is a different bar than an unsupervised customer reply. Setup is described as about twenty minutes with an OpenAI-compatible key plus Gmail, Sheets, and Slack credentials.
