AI agent use cases: 12 real examples, by job, from published sources (2026)
What an AI agent use case means, with 12 vendor-published examples by job. Every entry links a source we fetched.
An AI agent use case is a specific job an agent does end to end: it gathers context from your tools, takes several steps on its own, and hands back finished work (a draft, a ranked list, a report) for you to approve. A chatbot answers a question; an agent use case names the trigger, the sources it reads, what it produces, and where it stops. Every example below comes from a vendor’s own published page, linked so you can check it.
As of November 1, 2026, our catalogue lists 441 use cases, and 433 of them clear our depth gate (a sourced description of at least 60 words, at least one named agent, job and task, and a source link). Browse them all on AI agent use cases or start from your job on use cases by occupation.
How we decide what counts as a use case
We only list an example when a vendor or official source describes it in enough detail to tell what the agent actually does. Each entry records the agent or platform, the jobs and industries it fits, the tasks involved, and the source URL with the date we fetched it. Thin entries stay on the site but are marked noindex until we can enrich them. The full rules are on our methodology page.
Three things show up in nearly every well-documented example:
- Connected sources. The agent reads a CRM, inbox, calendar, analytics, or file store rather than working from a blank prompt.
- A defined output. A review list, a memo, a reconciled summary, or a set of drafts.
- A stopping point. Many official examples tell the agent explicitly not to send, change, or enroll anything without a human.

Sales
- Overnight pipeline research (Grok Bot). Cursor’s Grok Bot use-case docs describe an agent that researches the accounts in a CRM view, scores them against your ideal customer profile and recent intent, finds up to three contacts per account, and drafts email and LinkedIn outreach, returning a review list without sending or enrolling anyone. See the use case.
- Account research before outreach (Make). Make’s agent playbook describes an agent that runs live web research on each target account, compiles a consistent company report, and links it back to the record for call prep. See the use case.
- Qualify enterprise leads (Zapier Agents). On Zapier Agents, Qualify enterprise leads sends instant alerts when qualified leads come through your forms, with enriched data and smart scoring, alongside a Lead Enrichment Agent that researches new leads. See the use case.

Marketing and content
- Weekly competitor tracking (Lindy). On Lindy’s competitor-tracking page, you name the competitors and Lindy posts what they shipped, hired, posted, and ranked for to Slack every Monday. See the use case.
- Content from interview transcripts (OpenAI dots). In OpenAI’s introducing dots post, a creator’s dot learns their voice, and when a new transcript arrives it picks clip moments, prepares show notes, and drafts social posts for approval. See the use case.
- SEO blog writer (Zapier Agents). On Zapier Agents, the SEO Blog Writer takes a product link and topic, then writes a keyword-focused article for you to edit before publishing. See the use case.

Customer service and operations
- Store operations over Telegram (n8n). n8n workflow 13503 connects a Telegram bot to an AI agent so WooCommerce store owners can query store data and handle support conversationally. See the use case.
- Account health watch list (Grok Bot). The Grok Bot docs describe combining usage, support escalations, renewal timing, and stakeholder activity into a ranked watch list with evidence and a next step for each account, without contacting customers. See the use case.
- Guarded support replies (Zapier). Zapier’s guarded AI support orchestrator classifies tickets, drafts replies inside sheet-defined guidance, and only sends when confidence clears your threshold. See the use case.

Finance and accounting
- Weekly expense reconciliation (Grok Bot). Per the Grok Bot docs, the agent builds the week’s expense summary against your policy, matches receipts from the finance inbox, flags exceptions, and drafts one follow-up per owner. See the use case.
- Unpaid invoice reminders (Claude Duet). Anthropic’s Claude Duet product pages describe finding unpaid invoices in QuickBooks or Stripe and drafting reminders for your approval before anything is sent. See the use case.
HR and recruiting
- Interview scorecards from transcripts (Make). Make’s playbook entry describes an agent that finds the interview, reads its transcript, and writes evidence-backed feedback for each scorecard question, flagging open questions. See the use case.
- Recruitment crew (CrewAI). The official CrewAI recruitment example uses collaborating agents for candidate sourcing and evaluation and generates a detailed report. See the use case.
Engineering and product
- Bug reproduction packs (Grok Bot). The Grok Bot docs describe reproducing a bug report in staging with a fresh test account and returning exact steps, expected versus actual behavior, screenshots, and a minimal test case. See the use case.
- Morning brief (Claude Duet). The Claude Duet App Store listing describes a daily look across email and calendar that surfaces the few items needing a decision or reply, with context and a draft where it can. See the use case.
